Ah, Rick, another fantastic post. I too have always been and continue to be inspired by the Declaration of Independence. I love how you used the marketing/social media component to shed some light into the thoughts and minds of our very wise forefathers here in Philadelphia. You, also, know your audience! Personally, I love the fact that Obama is a Constitutional lawyer. To be one a person must be at the top of their class at the top law schools. It is the most difficult law. I trust Obama holds the Declaration and the Constitution dear. Perhaps we will see a return to these ideals when the regime changes.

Margaret, thank you for your kind words.
As you say, it's yet to be proven that a redress of grievances won't work. The momentum to want a real change must come from us. I think our "leaders" are reflections of what we say we want. They are actually followers. Which confounds the situation, when you've got everyone following and reacting and obeying, and nobody staking a claim and pointing in a direction and leading. Because the different factions don't agree on the things the government should and shouldn't be able to do, even though a concise list is right in front of us, and all over the Internet: the Constitution.
I've stopped blaming government for what it is. As P.J. O'Rourke concluded his book A Parliament of Whores, "...since this is a democratic republic, then the whores are us."
(Apropos of nothing, but I have the distinction of giving the 1992 Libertarian Presidential candidate his copy of A Parliament of Whores. In return, he gave me a book about Burma-Shave signs.)

Wonderful! Excellent, excellent, excellent! We, as a country governed by this document, are on our last 'peaceful' legs, aren't we? Now the people are doing a 'demand for redress' directed at our elected officials, demanding a return to Constitutional Governance and a rescinding of anything and everything that has been passed legislatively that is against the Constitution. This form of government is the newest of the new, the experiment of the ages, and it is being betrayed and dumped for the oldest, most dangerous, and most consistent form of governance- dictatorship. Therefore, if the demand for redress fails, and there is no reason to think it won't, given our politicians' affinity to have their wallets lined or for fear of the biological warfare threatened by the anthrax scare, then 'when peaceful revolution is made impossible, violent revolution will be inevitable' (paraphrase of JFK). The people WILL speak. The true question is, will they be HEARD?
